This project brought together 30 migrants from Central Africa and Swahili- and French-speaking Congolese backgrounds who were underemployed and looking for ways to gain financial independence.
Over several months of structured mentoring, the CAN Dream Plan Do team supported the group who met regularly to learn how to embroider, crochet and weave pieces of commercial art which they sold at a local market, an experience that boosted their enterprise skills.
An exhibition and gathering at the City of Stirling’s Multicultural Centre enabled the group to share the transformative effect the project had on their lives, with the experience having a profoundly positive effect on their confidence, family relationships and connections to community.
